Dual Portuguese Nationality - Law 37/81 of October 3rd

1. - ATTRIBUTION OF ORIGINATING NATIONALITY - HEREDITARY TRANSMISSION 

(If the grandchild of Portuguese is alive, the nationality can be transmitted to great-grandchildren and so on.)

2. ACQUISITION OF NATIONALITY BY NATURALIZATION FOR FOREIGNERS - ACQUISITION BY LAW

2.1 - Nationality through the Sephardic route: n.7, Art.6º  (click here)  -
Attention: Legislative amendment restricting rights from 09/01/ 2022 Please contact us urgently so that we can carry out your genealogical study and gather the documents in a timely manner to guarantee your application for nationality in the most beneficial law before 08/31/2022.

2.2 - Minors born in Portuguese territory, children of foreigners (click here) : nº 2, art. 6º 

2.3 - Individuals who cumulatively meet the following requirements (click here): a) Born in Portuguese territory; b) Are children of a foreigner who was resident here, regardless of title, at the time of their birth; c) Have resided here, regardless of title, for at least five years: nº5, art. 6th.

2.4 - To individuals who, not being stateless, have had Portuguese nationality, to those who are considered to be descendants of original Portuguese people, to members of communities of Portuguese descent and to foreigners who have provided or are called upon to provide relevant services to the Portuguese State or to the national community: nº6. art. 6º   (click here)

3 - ACQUISITION OF NATIONALITY BY EFFECT OF WILL AND DIRECT RELATIONSHIP

Dual Italian Citizenship - Law No. 91 of February 5, 1992.

1 - INHERITANCE (" ius sanguinis" ): Art. 1st

2 - CITIZENSHIP BY BIRTH IN ITALIAN TERRITORY   ( "ius soli" ) : Art. 1st, paragraphs 1st, b and 2nd  (click here)

2.1 Those whose parents are unknown or stateless or do not transmit their own citizenship to the child according to the law of the State of which they are citizens (art. 1, paragraph 1, letter b law n. 91/92);

2.2 Children of unknown parents who are found abandoned in Italian territory and whose citizenship cannot be determined (art. 1, paragraph 2, law n. 91/92).
